To obtain LEED Certificate; it is necessary to take at least 40 points and to fulfill 8 pre-requisite credits during preconstruction, construction and post-construction.
LEED green building rating system is defined with 4 levels:
1. LEED Certificate (40-49)
2. LEED Silver Certificate (50-59)
3. LEED Gold Certificate (60-79)
4. LEED Platinum Certificate (80+)
Assessment of Buildings within the Scope of LEED
The project, the field and the building is assessed within the scope of LEED by experienced ERKE LEED APs and contractor, designer, project owner, consultants, architect and designer. With this assessment, it is ensured that all project partners obtain information and LEED Certificate level to be applied is determined. Depending on the decision of the employer, the project is recorded to LEED Online and LEED Process begins.
LEED Certification Consultancy during Construction and Design Process
During the design process, LEED credits and pre-requirements are analyzed through various studies made with project partners. ERKE LEED APs work with project designers to ensure fulfillment of requirements determined during initial assessment. When necessary, they lead to improve the projects (Architectural Design, Electrical Project , Mechanical Project, Infrastructure, Landscape Design) for getting more LEED points and providing energy saving building without negatively affecting the process. Thereafter, related credits are submitted to LEED Online for examination of USGBC (The U.S Green Building Council). Our LEED APs conduct the same process during the construction process and submit all the relevant documents and credits to LEED Online for examination of USGBC. After the completion of examination by USGBC, LEED Certificate is awarded.
Energy Modeling
With expert mechanical engineers, ERKE is the first company in Turkey that can provide complete ENERGY MODELING. In the preliminary design stage; lighting, HVAC, building façade and other systems are compared and the most efficient system by means of energy modeling is decided. ERKE’s customers are informed about system performances at the beginning of design stage so that an optimum buying process can be performed. During further design processes, more detailed energy analysis is done to determine the energy consumption and operating cost of the building.
We prepare all the energy analysis and related repots within the scope of LEED and BREEAM and submit them to the examination of USGBC and BRE.
Daylight Modeling
With the knowledge and experience of the electrical engineers within ERKE we make daylight modeling by using three dimensional programs. We determine the total sunlight level in indoor environment and report this to our customers. We make all workings related to LEED by means of these programs.
Testing and Commissioning
The aim of this study performed by expert mechanical and electrical engineers is to control the conformity of the building energy systems with customer demands, design criteria and to ensure their efficiency.
Waste Management
Waste management plan particularly to the project is prepared considering the reduction of wastes during construction and after construction, waste collection, waste disposal and waste recovery. According to this study, waste policies for companies are developed.
